Carbon Reduction Award 2023 Application

The entry form is flexible and there is no maximum word count, although as a guide around 250 words is ideal.

Judges will assess several criteria to ascertain the impact and effectiveness of the carbon reduction initiatives. The successful applicants will demonstrate:

1. Measurable emissions reduction: The extent to which the nominee has achieved significant and measurable reductions in carbon emissions is a crucial factor. Applicants must demonstrate an absolute reduction in terms of kgs CO2 or a percentage reduction.

2. Innovation: The judges will be looking for innovative approaches employed by the nominee to reduce carbon emissions. This may include the development or adoption of new technologies, processes, or business models.

3. Impact: The impact of the initiatives is essential. Judges will assess whether the actions taken are likely to have lasting effects and contribute to long-term emission reductions.

4. Leadership and commitment: Judges will look for evidence of strong leadership and commitment to carbon reduction throughout the business backed up by a written policy and guidelines.

5. Communication and education: Judges will assess the applicants’ efforts to communicate and raise awareness about carbon reduction. This may include activities aimed at inspiring others to act and promoting broader awareness of the importance of carbon reduction.

6. Measurable outcomes and data transparency: Judges will look for evidence of clear and transparent reporting on the outcomes and impacts of the carbon reduction initiatives.

By evaluating applicants against these criteria, judges will identify those who have made outstanding contributions to carbon reduction, inspiring others and promoting a sustainable future.
